Hi Leo!
I’m very happy to that you come to Terrassa. I miss you…
I already know what we can do when you are here. We can start in ‘Vallparadís’ and we can see the ‘Castell-Cartoixa’. Then we can go to the 'Plaça Vella' and since it is next to it, we can see 'La torre del Palau' and then we can go to 'el mercat de la Independència'. After, we can stop to eat at 'Viena', which is very good. When we finish we can go to the 'Parque de Sant Jordi' and also see ‘la Masia Freixa', which is very beautiful. There we can walk and then go to the 'Museu de la ciencia i la tecnica'. When we leave we can go to have a snack. In the afternoon I can accompany you to your hotel.

Hi Maya!

There are already three days left for you to come to Terrassa. Now I will

tell you what we will do.

First we will go to the woman’s monument. Later we will go to the center

and see the Freixa farmhouse. When we finish looking at the Freixa

farmhouse we will go to the independence market. And we will go down

the burned street to see the palace tower. We will have lunch in the

center. And in the afternoon we will take one last walk and go to the hotel.

I am very happy that you are finally coming to Terrassa! I'm going to show you the whole city, I hope you like it and that you find it interesting. I will show you the Torre del Palau and I will explain its history. We will also go to see the Masia Freixa, and we will walk through the beautiful Sant Jordi park. We will eat at my favorite restaurant and you will taste our gastronomy. I am very happy that you are finally coming to Terrassa! 2. Choose five important places / buildings in Terrassa and write a tourist description of them. Add a picture of each place followed by its description. (Group work)  

"Torre del Palau"

Is the only vestige of the castle palace of Terrassa, it's located behind the Plaça Vella, between 'Carrer Cremat' and 'Carrer dels Gavatxons'. As it was hidden from view, in 1991 the houses behind it were demolished and a new square was opened, called the "Plaça de la Torre del Castell-Palau", from which it can be accessed. It's a cylindrical Roman building 26.70m high and 7.5 in diameter at the base.

"Masia Freixa"

Is a modernist building in the city of Terrassa located in 'Sant Jordi' park, located in the neighborhood of  Ca n'Aurell. Built in 1896, it was originaly designed as a yarn factory and was rennovated between 1907 and 1914 by Lluís Muncunill i Parellada, who transformed it into the family residence of the textil industrialist Josep Freixa.

"Museu de la Ciència i de la Tècnica de Catalunya"

Is a museum that promotes knowledge of scientific, technical and industrial culture and, at the same time, preserves, studies and shows the evolution of scientific and technical advances in Catalunya. It is an old textile factory located on 'Rambla d'Ègara' in Terrassa, built between 1907 and 1908, which currently houses the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalunya. 

"Castell cartoixa de Vallparadís"

Is an old building in Terrassa, located in the Vallparadís park. It's accessed through Vallparadís park and 'Salmerón' Street. The castle is currently rectangular in plan, with loophole walls and four square towers at the corners and three half towers in the middle of the north, east and south sides.

"Casa Alegre de Sagrera"

Is a building-museum on 'Carrer de la Font Vella' n.29, of Terrassa. It was the manor house of Joaquim de Sagrera, a textile factory of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries who played a prominent role in the French War. 

 3. Prepare his trip in Terrassa . Find him a nice hotel, look for flights from London to Barcelona and make a programme for his stay in our city. Don't forget to write down all the prices and make a nice budget for his holidays. (Group work)

Hello! I am very happy because you are coming to Terrassa, I found you an agency and a hotel. The agency that I found and liked is Ryanair, which the roundtrip flight costs only 40€. You will have to get up a bit early because your flight leaves at 8.15am. You will arrive here at 11.25 am at Barcelona-El Prat airport (BCN), you will have to travel with a taxi to Terrassa where you will stay at the Don Candido hotel, which will cost you 81€ for five days. I will show you the city and we will walk through the Vallparadís park, I will show you the Masia Freixa among others. I recommend you bring 200€ since the flight and the hotel will cost you 121€.
